Pregnancy and Vaccinations

Home

The usual medical advice whilst pregnant is to restrict any substances which may have the potential to affect the baby down to a minimum. Whilst in general vaccinations are safe, some even being targeted to be given in pregnancy like Whooping cough other vaccinations e.g. Rubella are specifically contra-indicated in pregnancy. The Center for Disease Control ( CDC) in the USA has produced a helpful guide when thinking about vaccinations in pregnancy. Our advice is to always discuss this with someone who is trained in travel health who can advise and assist pregnant travellers further.
